On informal WhatsApp or Facebook groups, nobody checks your schedule. On a professional freight exchange, compliance is visible — and load posters use it when they choose who to give work to.
This article explains what Trustd-style certificate visibility means for UK operators, and how to keep your profile quote-ready. Disclaimer: Mesh'd Limited trading as Meshed Cover is not affiliated with Trustd or Haulage Exchange. We are an independent FCA-regulated broker (FRN 1033248). Flat 10% broker fee. No fake prices. We do not claim partnership, preferred status, endorsement, or technical integration with Trustd or Haulage Exchange.

What Trustd-style systems typically store
Public material from Haulage Exchange and related Trustd messaging describes a compliance / digital-identity layer that stores and monitors documents members need to trade. Typical items called out in public copy include:
Operator licence evidence
Goods in Transit insurance
HGV / vehicle insurance
Identity and trading status
Expiry alerts are part of the point: when a document lapses, the profile stops looking “verified” until fresh evidence is uploaded. That is an ops deadline, not admin trivia.
For how Haulage Exchange publicly frames carrier checks and speed-to-quote, see their article on finding haulage carriers in less than four minutes and the homepage at haulageexchange.co.uk. Those links are editorial. Meshed does not speak for Trustd or Haulage Exchange, and we do not integrate with their systems unless and until that is separately true and disclosed.
What load posters optimise for
Public framing from major UK exchanges is consistent: posters weigh price, feedback / ratings, and verified compliance together. A cheap quote with expired GIT or a mismatched company name loses to a slightly dearer carrier whose documents are current and clear.
Verified compliance is a trust signal. It is not a substitute for reading the other party’s limits, exclusions, or subcontract terms before collection. Certificate visibility reduces friction; it does not pay the claim.
Operator checklist — make your profile quote-ready
Current GIT schedule matching the limit you advertise and the loads you accept. If the board or a poster expects a higher limit than your schedule, fix cover before you bid — do not overstate the certificate.
Motor Hire & Reward evidence with the correct use class. Own-goods or social class will not survive a serious check.
Public liability PDF ready (and employers’ liability if you employ). Label files so compliance teams are not guessing.
Named insured = trading name on the exchange profile. Trading as “ABC Haulage” while the certificate says a dormant Ltd name is a common fail.
No gap between renewal and re-upload. Bind → fresh evidence → upload the same day. Do not leave a weekend where the old PDF has expired and the new one is still in your inbox.
Specialist endorsements visible where relevant (temperature, high-value goods, ADR). A generic GIT certificate that silently excludes the cargo you are quoting is worse than no bid.
More on schedule vs certificate vs broker letter: haulage insurance certificates UK.
Common fails that cost loads
Wrong company name on the certificate vs the member profile
GIT too low for the load value or the poster’s onboarding pack
Expired EL (or missing EL when you clearly employ drivers)
Specialist goods quoted without endorsement
Stale PDF after a mid-term vehicle or limit change
Motor schedule sent as “GIT proof” — wrong document type
Any of these can knock you out of shortlists even when your price is right.
How Meshed helps
We place the commercial covers operators keep getting asked for on exchanges and by shippers — Goods in Transit, public liability, and employers’ liability where it applies — then help you get upload-ready evidence that matches what is actually on risk.
We are not an HGV motor quote engine; keep Hire & Reward motor with a motor specialist when that is the gap. When the gap is GIT limits, liability certificates, and clean paperwork for platform or customer packs, start with us.
What to bring: O-licence position, trading name as it appears on the exchange, whose goods you carry, GIT limit you need, current certificates/schedules, and any platform document list or rejection note.

Again for clarity: Meshed Cover is not affiliated with Trustd or Haulage Exchange, is not their insurance partner, and does not claim preferred or endorsed status.

FAQs
What do other freight exchange members see about my insurance?
On Trustd-style compliance layers used with major UK exchanges, members typically see that key documents — such as O-licence evidence, Goods in Transit, and vehicle cover — are present and in date, with alerts when they expire. Exact screens differ by platform; treat public descriptions as guidance and check your own member view.
Does a verified Trustd-style profile guarantee I am fully insured for every load?
No. Verification means documents were uploaded and monitored for expiry. It does not prove the GIT limit matches the cargo, that exclusions do not apply, or that subcontract terms are covered. Read limits and wordings before you commit.
What certificates should I upload to stay quote-ready?
At minimum: current GIT evidence at the right limit, Hire & Reward motor proof, public liability, and employers’ liability if you employ. Match the named insured to your trading name. See the GIT join checklist.
Is Meshed Cover affiliated with Trustd or Haulage Exchange?
No. Mesh'd Limited t/a Meshed Cover is an independent FCA-regulated broker (FRN 1033248). We are not affiliated with Trustd or Haulage Exchange, and we do not claim partnership, endorsement, or system integration.
What happens if my GIT certificate expires on the platform?
Compliance systems commonly flag or remove verified status until you upload fresh evidence. That can stop you taking loads until the new certificate is live. Renew early and re-upload the same day cover binds.
